Re: CSS Mobiles (Bradford)
Hello Josie,
Write up your notes of time, call centre, persons name and detail of call - what offered / agreed etc.
Write to them referring to the call and pointing out that CSS were offering 'Orange' deals for over a year and as they had an Orange distributor number and were indeed an 'agent' for Orange it was up to Orange and not you to ensure that they did not abuse their principal / agent relationship with Orange.
Point out also that there was only ever one contract and you intend to enforce it unless they make a reasonable effort to put right the wrong done to you by their agents and themselves by failing to manage their channels to market. CSSs advertising, paperwork and shop presentation all supported their projection of themselves as agents of the networks they represented as did their conduct.
CISAS appear to be accepting the networks' bland statement that in all these cases there are two contracts. Presently it may be better to simply take them to court, at least you can be sure that a judge will consider the facts and not just the assertions. The truth will always out eventually.
Regards, Funforus

Re: CSS Mobiles (Bradford)
hi there so sorry have not beenable to contact you, just been bogged down. I took your advice and wrote to Orange thier fourteen days have now expired. i have not had a written response but had a phone call from them offering to reduce both my contracts to £25.00 a month each rather than £40.00 he told me that it has nothing to do with them and i need to pursue css. He did ask if i had lodged my complaint with cicas ( which i havent yet). iasked for him to put what he had said in writing to me but as of yet have not received anything but another orange bill.
Thank you so much funforous i will contact you a.s.a.p i am sorry that i have not responded sooner and thenks for your help. The guy who rang from Orange said that my contract with them is separate from my contract with css that is why orange is not liable. I only had one terms and conditions and that was from css in it it had all the usual stuff cant change tarriff, dont cancel contract, pay bills on time etc.
once again funforous thanks

Sorry if this puts pressure on you Funforus but I have to agree with Tanveer. I am starting again with action against Orange and I hope to emulate you and your tremendous results.

Re: CSS Mobiles (Bradford)
i thank you for everyones messages and support and i hope that everyones gets back what they are owed, i have come accorss a reply from FANFORUS he is god sent angel, so far he's been helping me to his utmost in getting me justice, god bless you fanforus. he has come up with a letter to orange plc, asking them to reconsider their position in all of this as they have previously declined any responsibilty for their agent (css mobiles) to pay my cash back, and for them to take in to consideration that i took out the contract under the impression that i was being sold a orange contract phone deal ..

Re: CSS Mobiles (Bradford)
You seem to hear this trend of Trading Standards playing ignorant to genuine peoples complaints or like Tanveer says that they just fobbed him off with some fairy tale excuse. It makes people like me sick & i'm sure countless others who have gone through the right channels because they're law abiding eventually getting through the swamp of various government associated organisations finally knocking on trading standards door & then to be given no hope of getting a penny from these scamming companies must be soul destroying. Really in my book trading standards are useless, if they cant look after the consumer then they should be in a different job where they dont have any form of authority, because it seems that they like jobs that involve no pressure!

Hello Tanveer, and anyone else in the same boat,
All is not lost . . . well, with a bit of effort it might not be. Click on my name to left of this post and use my profile to get my contact address. Cases have now been won against the networks in the matter of CSS Mobiles and there is no reason that you should not achieve the same. Get your act together and root out copies of your order forms, everything else we have in a collection for people to use.
Which Trading Standards told you that fib by the way? You might let us know a name and a number. Why we pay good taxes for these people to do little and achieve less I don't know. I, personally, have sent the local ones for CSS full details of what course people should be advised to take to make a successful claim.
Anyway, ball in your court! Funforus

Re: CSS Mobiles (Bradford)
hi everyone,
my name is tanveer im from lancashire, i took up this deal in feb 2007, on a 12 month contract with orange , the tariff was panther 55, but two phones were provided, each costing 55pounds each costing 110 pounds a month, which css mobile said they'd cover 100%, >>> this css mobiles have ruined my life, i had teh same problems with them like everyone else,my cash back deal was (panther 55 x2 two phones) £55 each, equalling to £110 month, i only ever got £330 paid to me on cash back stage 1, even that was paid late to me, i heard all the excuses from them, they once accused me that i sent them a duplicate bill from oraneg which is why they cant pay me, that pathetics as all the bill were original and sent from orange directly which i later forwared to them on the relevant dates, sent everthing via recorded delivery, they asked me for signuatyre proof, then they said to me that they had lost my details and that i had to send them a copy of my contract that which was my copy to begin with, anyway i found out after several months this compnay had left me out of pocket,
£110 a month for a 12 month contract was expensive for me to afford, i was only ever paid £330 on cash back stage 3
which leaves £990 left that they owe me, to this date of 30/03/2008 i have only got around £326.00 i still owe to orange have been chasing me up for and now have sent my account off to a debt receovery agent, which means i have to this date paid for this crap mobile phone deal approx £664.00 of my own money out of my own pocket,
i dont want to pay the £326 pounds to orange , i cant afford it please can someone help me, i have explianed the situation to orange customer services, they said they cant help me,

Re: CSS Mobiles (Bradford)
Hello Josie . . .
Yes, of course. Drop me a note with the following:
Date of contract
Scan of 'Order form' if you have a copy
Terms and Conditions at date of taking up contract - if you took a screenshot or had them in paper form.
I'll then forward a copy of the necessary paperwork with some annotations to relate to your exact situation. In the meantime if you have not already done so write to Orange and point out that you have asked them to assume the responsibilities of their now defunct agent and they have not done so. Tell them you are giving them 14 days from the day after the date of your letter (send first class) either to tell you that they have changed their mind and proposing a means of paying the arrears and continuing the cashback payments or that they repudiate responsibility and acknowledge deadlock such that you may take the matter to CISAS. Say also that if you have not heard from them withing the forteen days that you will assume that to be an indication that you have deadlock between you.
This is what would if intending to take proceeding be termed your 'letter before action'. You have to be reasonable and give them a chance! You never know, they may take it and wouldnt that be nice! (Oh, a shadow passed over my keyboard as a pig flew by!)
In the meantime you can begin to get your case together. Go to the CISAS site and have a look at the stuff there, the downloadable form in particular. You can probably do the whole thing electronically but looking at paper is easier. The whole process should take no more than half a day of your time an hour rhere and an hour there.
If you know anyone else in the same boat (with CSS or anyone else) get them together and do it together over a bottle of wine . . . you may as well get some fun out of the misery they have caused you!

Re: CSS Mobiles (Bradford)
Hello
The bad news is it's because Css Mobiles went into liquidation in Nov/Dec 2007, i've complained to man on the street, dog, probably circulated enough letters to cause a shortage of paper (trees) & still the british law looks after the welfare of this son of a gun (css). So until theres a proper break through in bringing these sort of people to proper justice ( no thanks to WYTS, as they sit in their cosy office with knitting neeedles!) you'll have to join the p****d off club like the rest of us, or read up on funforus threads as he seems to be the only one still firing the bullets @ the relevant authorities! Goodluck.
