    CREDIT SCORING

    Hello,

I wanted some help and advice. I have just purchased my credit file with experian and equifax both. my score with experian is good at 915 but with equifax it is very poor and 243.

all my payments are on time and I have never missed a payment. and i have lived at my address for just over a year.

i have 19 searches in the last 0-3 months, 6 in the last 4-6 months and 29 in 7-12 months with experian. and only 1 search in the last 6 months with equifax. i just got approved for a platinum credit card with my bank and they gave me a limit of £4,500. yet again barclaycard initial just gave me a limit of £250.

I have various other credit cards and all payments are always on time, i started off with capitalone, vanquis, aqua, monument, halifax and marks and spencer.

i now want another credit card and was wondering if someone can tell me when the best time to apply for one would be, and which one do you think i am likely to get approved on.

i have just been told that even if your credit rating is so good it does not mean you will automatically be given further credit, becuase the more searches i have the less likely i am to be approved for credit.

any advice would be highly appreciated.

    many thanks

    Re: CREDIT SCORING

    1. Why all the searches? What have you been applying for? (Or are they searches for other purposes?)
    2. Affordability? Ask yourself what your bank seem to know about you that the credit card companies don't?
    3. Are you on the electoral roll?
    4. What do equifax know that experian don't? Or vice versa...
There is a table somewhere of which credit card companies use which agencies...
