    All the above are correct, any defaults and resulting CCJ's are evident on your credit file for a period of up to 6 years. If you pay any outstanding debts then these are shown as being "satisfied" but will still contribute to your credit score until you either have them removed by the company you owed or they fall outside of the 6 year period.

    it takes 6 years and your rating should improve when all debt is paid in full

    From what I've read on these forums I believe it to be six years as well.

    credit report

    Can anyone tell me how long it takes for defaults to be wiped from my credit report?

    If all credit is paied off and i dont owe anything will my credit rating improve??
