    Re: Credit rating

Fairly hard without actually owing any money, one way is to use a credit card to buy goods or services you would use cash for normally, then pay the balance off in full without incurring interest.

It still is a form of borrowing, but it does not cost you anything and  helps to improve your credit rating, by showing you have always made your payments on time, you also get the card protection benefits, i.e. fraud, faulty goods etc.
