    Re: Credit crunch killing romance?

Listen, sometimes the simple things turn out to be the best. My husband has taken me to fancy restaurants and 5* hotels etc but the times i remember best is when he spends hardly anything and wings it! I came home one day and there was a note on the floor telling me to go to the bedroom, there were candles leading up the stairs and in the bedroom where my bathrobe was waiting with another note telling me to undress and go to the bathroom. I did this again being led by candles and in the bathroom was a lovely hot bath with all kinds of smellies and a cd playing soft music.

When I cam out of the bath my night clothes were on display with another note telling me to come downstairs, I did and was presented with a low lighted dining area with a single rose candles and home cooked meal. I rewarded him the best I could that night!

These are the things that we remember the best, not the posh stuff. (Even though that is good too!) ;-)

    How about this for romance?

I am having to separate from my husband because otherwise I do not qualify for the government's new mortgage interest support and we will lose our family home. Hopefully, when I find a new job or when the benefit system stops being so ridiculous, we can get back together again!

Mine won't have a bath since I installed the cheap to run electric LED Xmas lights around the edge of the bath.

Results ......saves on the gas bill and I can't take her out for a meal, because she smells. !

    Hence my first post. : -- )

    EHarvey:

Has anyone found a financially friendly way of being romantic?

Have a bath ready for her when she comes home (£free), light the candles (£1.99 for 100 tea lights), Chardonay from Aldi (£2.99).

    Results: Priceless.

    ;-)

    Credit crunch killing romance?

Is anyone finding that due to the current economy, they've had to cut back on doing romantic things with their partner? Are you spending less on going out for romantic meals and weekends away? Cutting back on buying flowers and gifts?

Has anyone found a financially friendly way of being romantic?
