Yet again I face the annual issue of credit card payment dates at Christmas. It is nothing short of a scam!
the payment due date is not only a day or two earlier than normal months - 2 January - but with having to give 4 working days for clearance, the payment actually needs to be made 23/24 December. I wonder how many people every year get caught with extra interest payments because of this - it must be close to 'sharp practice' by the companies.
For me, because I put work expenses on a personal credit card, and I travel a great deal, it means finding about £3000 to pay up before Chrsitmas, before my expenses are processed. I guess I shuld have been on the ball quicker, but still, this is close to being a scam every year.
