    Credit Card Applications

    Hello,

I would appreaciate some advice. In 2002 my wife and I went bankrupt due to the loss of our business.

We were discharged in 2005 and have all the documentation. We have bank accounts and are both in fulltime employment and even remortgaged without any problems. However, when i apply for a credit card the application is turned down.

I have sent copies of discharge certificates to all credir reference agencies and had my files updated. It's not like I want 1000's of pounds, but enough to get the good deals available for insurance etc instead of paying through the nose because I have to pay by cheque or direct debit.

Has anyone any advice please ?  To rub salt in, my neighbour has been bankrupt 4 times and flashes his plastic at me like no tomorrow. Is it a case of one rule for us mere mortals and one for the rich ?

    Andy Williamson.

    Re: Credit Card Applications

Does it stay on your file for 6yrs like defaults etc?

Maybe you need to wait till next year.
