    Re: council tax debt

Hi I am having problems paying my council tax and my husband is ill with MS, I am looking for a job. What I have noticed you must have everything in writing. I have to go back LB and show that my rent has increased and that we might be entittled to a discount on council tax, that is also a option find out becasue you are disabled you might be entittle to a discount. Also I might be entittled to discrepancy Housing benefits which they still have not informed me about. Keep appealing it and eventually it will get strenghtened out. And if you can afford offer money.

Now I will tell you about the Mystic Law of Cause and Effect from time without beginning, meaning that we are all responsible for everything that happens to us, don't get me wrong there is no blame jus total responsibility. Because I have denied my responsibility for my life I am in this predicament and the only way for me to get out of it is to total have faith in Nichiren Daishosnin's interpertation he Lotus Sutra, best English transaltion by Burton Watson. I know you wont understand but it really reaches a level in a person's life that is free from gree anger and foolishness and I will change this situation and have a job and pay back any money I owe LB; If you would like more information I be glad to e-mail you.

    Re: council tax debt

I assume you paid your taxes when you and your husband were working, so why should anyone think you are sponging? It is what you pay tax for and the benefit is money you are entitled to. Don't think like that, please. It is what makes these so-called officials feel superior. Now to your question. I have had trouble in the long distant past with these idiots at the council, when it was poll tax, but never mind that. I think you should take all your paperwork to the citizens advice bureau and ask for their opinion. They may even be able to argue the case on your behalf. If you were claiming a reduction because of a disabled person, the form would have gone out to your GP. Ask him or his staff if there had been a request about that time. If there was, then that just proves that they did received your application in the first place. Hope you sort them out.

    council tax debt

Hi, thanks for reading any advice would be helpful on the following, my husband came out of work last year and we had to claim benefits as i am disabled, i filled out all the forms and sent them back i also filled out council tax benefit forms and sent them back but the council say they never recieved them and have been sending me bills saying i owe them several hundred pounds, i gave them dates etc but they say because i never followed it up and asked why i had not heard anything i have to pay or ask for them to re-consider their decision, i have since recieved benefit help for this tax year but still have to pay last years, i wrote to them stating that i had sent forms in and also had to ring up three times to request forms for this year but they have refused to reverse their decision again and now do not no how i am going to pay all this, my husband is currently looking for work but not having much joy, i do not like getting benefits but things were beyond our control so please do not think we are sponging has we have always paid our way. Is it worth appealing again or just offer them so much a month? thanks
