Could the strength of the euro dissuade you from travelling in Europe?

The pound has reached records low against the euro in recent weeks with one euro worth around 80p. With the half-term and summer holidays approaching does the strength of the euro affect your travel plans this year?

I had a look at taking my family to America in June because of the value of the dollar, but the price getting out there soon made me change my mind. I'm sticking with our camping holiday in France - the costs don't come close and we always have a great time

Although the Euro is coming close to being the same as a pound you have to take in to account the cost of travelling when deciding on a holiday destination. We are seeing a lot of people looking at a short channel crossing and then staying in Brittany to cut down on the petrol costs (and CO2 footprint). Also people are now looking for a more ecofriendly option instead of large hotels they are considering mobile homes and tents.

so in answer to the question yes it may be dissuading people from travelling to places further afield in Europe but not the destinations closer to UK.
