Re: Cool New Mobile (Mobile Affiliates)

Not a problem at all - we will also be mounting a campaign regarding cashbacks and advice on how to follow up after being refused your cashback payments

In an ideal world there would be no cashback deals - however until that point I have to continue listing these offers, although remaining ever vigilent in terms of who is listed on the site (and for how long!)

    Yabbas,

Are you serious!!!! They called you on your Cool New Mobile to say that. What a f.......g insult!! Looking forward to my generous offer!!

Thought I'd wait an hour or so before replying to allow the medication to take effect. Have you COOLed down a bit?

PS. Joking aside and bearing in mind the possible cashflow issues I suppose something is better than nothing.

    Bit of news folks.

Mobile affiliaites have officially acknowledged service of my court summons.

The good news is that they are at least taking notice and no defence lodged.

The bad news is that they now have 28 days to make a response as opposed 14 days if they had ignored the summons.

Re: Cool New Mobile (Mobile Affiliates)

More news - contacted Consumer Direct informing them that CNM have not responded to my letter.

They've just escalated the matter to Trading Standards who should be in touch with me by the beginning of next week.

I'll inform them that CNM are late in paying back my other claims and see where things go from there.

Re: Cool New Mobile (Mobile Affiliates)

Good job Rob, and all of you guys, look's like these crooks they'll be out of business in short time..i'll send a letter to them monday, to informe that i'll get legal action agains them, and i really hope to receive a phone call from them...to offer me a mobile phone in change of my cash...what a good chance to send them to f..k off!!! :) At least with my car insurance now the things are going in the right way, but they've lose 3 weeks doing nothing...About the cashback i think that a serious company should give the cashback stated on a contract, without any silly thing like bills forms ect., but of course that's the way how these fraud companies make money, no more cashback deals for me, it doesn't worth the troubles!

Re: Cool New Mobile (Mobile Affiliates) &(PhoneBoxDirect) missing pages scam

www.phoneboxdirect.co.uk   Mobile Media Systems Ltd - mobilemediasystems.co.uk    missing pages scamI received a letter 09/08/06 from Mobile Media Systems (dated 06/08) which said I hadn't sent the second page of my bill (4th Claim). I know I did because I made that mistake on the first claim and lost £10.  I even asked a colleauge to check it before I sealed the envelope. I file all my bills and there are two photocopies where the bills should be - which confirms I sent them.
I rang up and they said that they definately hadn't received them, and that I had until 5.00pm tonight to get the original there. I rang O2, but they said it would take 3-5 days to send out a duplicate, so that isn't an option.
How can I (or anyone) prove that I sent both copies?? I can prove that they received the letter, but nothing about its contents. I have contacted Consumer Direct and BBC Watchdog.  I am sending a letter recorded delivery tomorrow to Mobile Media  informing them that I have a witness to the fact that I included both pages of the bill in the letter and that I urge them to search harder for my missing page otherwise I will pursue legal action.Has anybody successfully received money after being told that a page was missing???I have also contacted O2 expressing my disgust that they are still allowing their contracts to be sold through such a devious and fraudulent company. Please, please,  if you have had a similar experience post a message and contact your local trading standards and BBC Watchdog - we must spread the message and  stick together.

Re: Cool New Mobile (Mobile Affiliates) &(PhoneBoxDirect) missing pages scam

hi SeaShell - unfortunately there are a few of us (see also Money Saving Expert forum) and so far I havent seen anyone successfully get their cash back after PBD have declared the contract void after we have 'fail to include' all the pages of our bills.  Check out this entire thread to see some others.  So far I have: written to PBD - no reply, contacted O2 - they rang me back yesterday and said that there was nothing they could do but it was a matter they were going to raise with the area manager and others to see if things could be done to avoid their association with such companies (I paraphase aggressively here), I am currently putting together a Small Claim (see small claims on line - do a google or check the link earlier in this thread) and am using evidence of other people in this forum to show I am not the only one (not sure how useful that'll be) and have contacted BBC Watchdog - no reply.  Have contacted Trading Standards but have been redirected as I live in NI  so that trail has gone a bit cold for now. But I think the only thing we can do it just make ourselves known so that others dont fall for the same scam.  My deep down feeling is I have waved bye bye to the 366 they owe me as I think they will go bankrupt or similar (what is similar to that, I dont know?).  Its an expensive lesson sadly.  I am sorry I have no good news on this front.  I'll let you know how the claim goes tho.

Re: Cool New Mobile (Mobile Affiliates) &(PhoneBoxDirect) missing pages scam

Hi, I forgot to say that O2 suggested I contact otelo.org.uk which is a phone ombudsman as well as contact trading standards.  I havent done that yet but I am going to do it today.

Re: Cool New Mobile (Mobile Affiliates)

    Rob,

I was wondering if there is a delay in the review  system on your comparison tables. It mus thave been 4/5 days since I left a review with teference to CNM. I have also left a, wait for this, POSITIVE review with reference to a utility company. No sign of that eithrr.

I do think it is important that the reviews due to CNM are posted promptly as people may still be considering purchasing from them and they should be made aware of the problems that I and numerous others have/are experiencing with this company.

    Regards, Neill

Re: Cool New Mobile (Mobile Affiliates)

    An update......

Birmingham Trading Standards have written to CoolNewMobile on behalf of myself and also my wife. We were both scammed with the missing tariff page scam. If we do not hear anything positive from them within 14 days (about 7 days left now), then TS have advised to put a Court Claim in ASAP as these companies DISAPPEAR and the money goes with them. I will be claiming!

If you have been scammed in this way, please don't waste time.Issue proceedings before they file for bankrupcy...

Also in MoneySavingsExpert there is a thread from someone who has successfully got their money back from a dodgy phone company as the Terms and Conditions are unfair in that there is no way a claimant can get their money back if the mobile company claims they have not received the claim or if the claim is incomplete - this is deemed unfair and the dodgy dealer was forced to pay ALL the cashback for the term of the contract, before it was up and the cost of the claim.
