Re: Cool New Mobile (Mobile Affiliates)

Right...it's been AGES since they'd received my 2nd claims.  Sent my 3rd claims last week.  2nd claim STILL hasn't been received.

Called them today to find out it's a 45 WORKING DAY turnaround.  FORTY FIVE WORKING DAYS!?? That's around 3 months!

This is ridiculous.  I half wonder whether I should send another LBA...

    Hi Yabbas

Yes, I agree - this 45 working day thing is nonsense .. and must be overdue surely for me anyhow - my second claim was sent mid July ... still nothing!  Its the third claim they told me was missing some documents and so invalidates all my claims... I have sent letter before action special delivery over 2 weeks ago and nothing

I noted neillgb's comments and havet tried to follow this advice - Neillgb are you still here??  I tried the moneyclaim website but seems to be only for residents of england and wales - and I'm in Edinburgh.  Have tried consumer advice who referred me on to trading standards ... but I note not exactly a lot of action from them? am I right

Anyone else know how the small claims court works in Scotland?? is there a similar website maybe?  Should I continue to send me next lot of bills off??  Cheers Cathy

    COOLNEWMOBILE ARE UNDER ADMINISTRATION :( :(  :(  :(  :(

    I CAN'T BLOODY BELIEVE IT

I'LL BE LOSING MORE THAN A THOUSAND POUNDS BECAUSE THE IDIOTS REFUSED TO PAY ON TIME.

SHOCKED, ANNOYED, HATING TRADING STANDARDS BECAUSE I'M SURE THEY KNEW WHAT WAS GOING ON

ON 5 LINES I GOT A TOTAL OF 7 CASHBACK PAYMENTS :( :( that means they paid up for 1 line, and 2 payments of the other line.  With the £35 rebate you could say I got 2 lines paid off.

In total I'm forking out 420 * 3 for the other lines.

    Gutted.

I know it does not help now but I forecast this happening in my posting of 31 August.  What we must do is learn from this.

If you subscribe in the future to a cashback scheme then you are gambling that you will be one of the few to be successful. The odds are against it, though, as we have seen.

BEST ADVICE:   AVOID ALL CASHBACK SCHEMES WHICH SEEM TOO GOOD TO BE TRUE.

Re: Cool New Mobile (Mobile Affiliates)

The whole system of passing you on to another company with differing terms and conditions NEEDS to be reviewed.

At the moment it's the mobile companies who are making a KILLING on this scheme whilst NOT fronting any of the bills and FORCING us into a position to stick around for the remiaining months.  What a sham.

They 'promised' CNM a rebate scheme to resellers.  CNM promised us therebate scheme. CNM go down.  We are unable to collect from the original twunts and are held accountable for their misconduct.

    It's just not on.

When our contracts come up for renewal, we must express this to the providers in no uncertain terms.

Re: Cool New Mobile (Mobile Affiliates)

Please confirm that they are definitely are under administration! Where can I go to confirm this?

Are we able to cancel contract directly with our mobile phone provider ie. Vodafone, T Mobile etc... now that CNM is under administration??

     Please advise.

Re: Cool New Mobile (Mobile Affiliates)

    Hi Carol

Thanks for your post, I am in exactly the same situation & having received no cashback, I have copies of all my bills & the origianal recorded delivery slips.

    - Having sent in the incorrect (early) bill, due to misleading advise from Estelle Woolsey @ customer services; I was charged a £10 FEE! I have since sent in the correct (september 2007) bill & called about 2 weeks ago to chase progress, discovering that the cust service line had changed to a 50p/minute premuim rate no. Absolutly disgusted by this

    - Emailed cool new mobile who told me eveything had gone fine & cashback would be recieved within 45 days, After having checked the site now the company has gone into liqidation. SHOCKING. I will be writing a more detialed letter to BBC watchdog as well as trading standards.

Please keep me informed of your fight for justice against this scam & please let me know if there is anything I can do to help

    Best Regards

     Jay

Re: Cool New Mobile (Mobile Affiliates)

Mobile affiliates in administration! Can't believe it! Found out by having one of my claims returned by royal mail as they couldn't post it. I think we should all inform trading standards etc. I have phoned my phone company (vodafone) who have put a "procedure" in place. No idea what this involves, but I will be contacted within 72 hours. I suggest others do this to hear what their respective networks will do. I'll re-post when I'm contacted. I hope someone is held accountable for this

Re: Cool New Mobile (Mobile Affiliates)

    Hi Everyone,

I have just come across this forum and wanted to share my views you. I have a lot of knowledge on this subject and think i can help on the matter. The mobile phone cash back issue has become "the" biggest consumer issue in the current time. Many retailers have gone bust without paying their customers, some examples are:

    dialamobile - 90,000 customers

    phonebox - 39,000 customers

clickmobile and simply mobiles - do not know the exact figure but huge number of customers

Many more retailers are struggling to pay their customers.

The operators are the real culprits, some more than others. It appears that they are trying to put their agents out of business and are using underhanded tricks to do so. My belief is that customers and the agents are the victim of this issue. The operators need to be held to account for this problem and all customers must be paid what is owed to them and the responsibility lies with the operators. The operators are being ruthless and shameless in their approach. I saw a programme recently on watchdog and it was obvious the operators are acting very badly towards their agents and their customers.

Re: Cool New Mobile (Mobile Affiliates)

Hi there, thank you for sharing your views but what would you suggest we do? Do you reckon we could take the service providers to court and claim our money back? Surely they have to take some of the blame as these companies have been acting as their agents selling their products, therefore its just the same as the service providers promising our money back maybe we need someone to do a test case. What do you think?

Re: Cool New Mobile (Mobile Affiliates)

    Hi,

Have a look at the link below:

    http://www.mobiletoday.co.uk/content/17294.asp?men=0&sub=1

Even MP's are fighting for the customers and this issue is bigger than farepak.

The operators have shafted their agents and in the process shafted the customers.

The customers need to come together and put some serious pressure on the operators to pay the customers.

The operators make millions from the customers. 100,000's of thousands of customers have been affected and all its takes is for the operators to pay one customer and that will set the precedent, do not accept discounts on line rentals, demand your full cashback.

The media pressure is going to increase. This issue was on the front page of the times last week and it is only going to get bigger. Write an email or letter to the CEO of your operator demanding your money.

There is a potential class action case against the operators. A protest could be very effective in making sure the operators get the message. I believe all the customers need to come together to fight for their rights.

Re: Cool New Mobile (Mobile Affiliates)

Hi Mig , thanks for your post

I have contacted vodaphone & informed them that I will be cancelling the direct debit & not paying them a penny more.

I completly agree with you. Vodaphone gave their authorisation to these crooks to sell contracts on their behalf, THEY ARE FULLY ACCOUNTABLE. If everone who has been wripped off by these middleman companies then they will eventually start to take notice. I recommend that you also do the same!

Re: Cool New Mobile (Mobile Affiliates)

    Hi Jayu71,

You are absolutely right. Just to let you know some of these middle men (agents) have been operating for several years and giving their customers a great deal and service. They are victims, just like us, their employees have lost their jobs and their employers have gone bust.

I believe there is a conspiracy by the operators to put their agents out of business so that they can open their own shops and not pay commissions to their agents. We as the customers must come together and put pressure on the operators to pay all the customers affected by this issue.

If you watched the watchdog programme, it showed proof that some of the operators were forcing their agents to run these schemes that eventually ran in trouble.
