I'm writing to you because I need a contents insurance for my company which I'm starting up soon on the 16. of September 2009, the charity I'm renting the room from insists that I have a contents insurance because I'm going to handle money and I need insurance for the things I have in there.

And how much would a contents insurance cost me?

NatWest are one of the main suppliers of Insurance for small business. You can contact them on 0800 051 0562. I am not sure what the current premiums are like.

Morethanbusiness.com offer online quotes.

Or go to a local broker who offer commercial Insurance quotes. Sometimes face to face can be better but not all high street brokers have staff with alot of commercial insurance experience. Avoid Swintons.

I've never heard a recommendation for Nat West Business Insurance before and did not think they have much of the market.

If your renting a room I assume your sharing a building and the room is not self contained eg has its own lockable door. If this is the case I doubt Natwest would be able to help you as its quite specialist. If this is the case I would recommend you contact a local commercial broker or speak to the Insurer who covers the Charity
