roge:Does anyone know of where I can get this sorted from please.
kind regards
The problem that you have is one of statistics. There is more than a 50% chance that you will be burgled again, in the next 6 months. I cannot remember the exact statistics on this but you may find it difficult to arrange cover, unless your landlord is willing to install extra security. e.g. very good locks on doors/window and possibly an Alarm. Your local Police Crime prevention team may be able to visit and make recommendations. If possible your landlord should be present if such a visit is arranged. This is so the landlord is aware of any recommendations first hand, which may include not only security but also the grounds of the property e.g. security lighting, fencing, gates.
If your landlord is not willing to do this, then speak to Citizens Advice about your rights. You may be a position to get out of your tenancy early and then rent another property.
Unfortunately, some properties are more prone to break-ins due to many factors, including where they are situated, the neighbourhood. Ask your neighbours about whether there have been any other burglaries in the area.
In the meantime I would suggest that you contact a local insurance broker to see if there are any smaller companies that may take on the risk. Most major insurance companies will not provide cover, until a year has passed, without a further burglary.
