I can't actually believe this thread is real.

Not sure if you can sue but, as you have had such practice, can you come and have a go at my ovens?

    I can't face it!

    Re: Complaining about a film

I think we may have found a hitherto undiscovered realm of potential litigation here...

I personally have been more than disappointed (hurt you might say) to find that upon purchasing branded oven cleaner that in fact it does not "do it in a flash" nor does it "do it in a Ciffy" - and my original belief that I would be looking at 25 seconds max for a sparkling oven (in line with the obviously factual documentary advertisments" has actually turned into a 2 hour project...do you think I should invoice them for my additional time? :-)

I would be more concerned about buying an Apple and not picking up MSM.com...

In all seriousness, I have often thought about returning apples that I find are horribly floury or soft instead of sweet and crunchy. That and clementines or mandarins that are not tangy & juicy as it says on the pack.

Depending on the supermarket, you may be onto a winner, with some offering satisfaction guaranteed or your money back.

The no win no fee solicitor may want more than one bite at the apple when you win.

Be careful not to buy sour grapes with any settlement. You might end up feeling bitter.

    Re: Complaining about a film

In a similar vein, I wonder if an apple I purchased yesterday in a local supermarket is also refundable? Admittedly it is a little discoloured where I took a bite prior to discarding it ( in the back of my car) but to be frank, it was unacceptable to my palate. It looked quite tasty, and was similar to other apples I have consumed previously, however it was sharper than I had anticipated, and thus I am now greatly irked. I have wasted twenty pence on this "poor cousin" of my usual Golden Delicious. Could a "No win, No fee" solicitor help ????

Ah, you see there's cause for complaint...

You started reading a serious post without prior warning that the tone may change midway through.

Would you like me to refund the posting points?

    Re: Complaining about a film

It looks like Dollarfrog might be onto something as:

Shyamalan expressed a great deal of regret in the way the film was marketed, telling producing partner Sam Mercer, while overseeing the editing of the teaser trailer for Lady in the Water, that he had wished for The Village to have been sold as a period romance with a scare only at the end of the trailer. Shyamalan is also said to have thought that the shift in the main theme of faith from his previous films to that of deception resulted in the mixed-negative response. Citing that his other movies set out to make an audience believe in the supernatural, The Village set out to do the opposite.[29]

The Village earned an Academy Award nomination for Best Original Score.

    Quote from his Wiki entry.

PS the M in M. Night Shyamalan stands for "Mwah hahahaha I fooled you again moviegoers!"

    Re: Complaining about a film

    Dollarfrog,

I have found myself in this situation before. I am sure you can understand my shock and surprise when the lovely ladies in 'From Dusk till Dawn' suddenly turned into vampires (which, incidentally, I am not too fond of) but this was nothing compared to the terror of finding out that the Titanic (an 'unsinkable' ship) went down.

In cases like these, I complain bitterly and I do so to my missus.

She has yet to refund me anything (although she did pass me a tissue for the boat thing), but you never know, it is surely only a matter of time.

    A.

PS - don't even get me started on LOST!

Possibly the best thread (and least relevant to anything!) of all time!!

    Re: Complaining about a film

File-sharing concerns would pale to nothingness compared to what would happen if studios had to start giving money back for films they fraudulently label and advertise as "comedy".

    CMK

I am going to start to refer to you as egghead!!!!!!!

Okay huckster I give in, who directed, "egghead".?

    : -- )

Eggheads Robot - Milo Lewis 1970. Lead actor Keith Chegwin. Sounds like a classic. I am sure the OP will enjoy this!!

No there is a BBC2 programme where an egghead Kevin knows very obscure details on films.

    Huckster
