Click Mobile UK Ltd has gone bankrupt

    Hi

I am a customer of Click Mobile ( bracnches in Hounslow and Southall).

This mobile firm has gone burst with millions of pounds from customers. Are you one of their customers? Did you get your cashback ? Do you know what steps to take in order to get some money back from these fraudsters ?

Do let me know and trust my words...never get into these cashback offers.

Re: Click Mobile UK Ltd has gone bankrupt

Hi --- Like any company that goes bankrupt owing you money, all you can do is register with the official receiver that is appointed to handle their affairs as a creditor, in the unlikely event there is anything to share out then private individuals will be the last in line when it comes to a percentage of any funds shared out, if any.

This is when paying with a credit card is useful, as you can claim your losses back from the CC under the consumer credit act.

    conmankiller,,

Do you know who the official receiver is and how you go about registering with them? Can you please provide details if you have them.

Also do you have more details about using the consumer credit act to try and re-coup some of the money? We're using CC to pay 3 and as they have nothing to do with this in theory as its clickmobile who haved scammed us, how would this work?

    Thanks

    Raj

Re: Click Mobile UK Ltd has gone bankrupt

You could contact the Insolvency service below, then click on where it says," I am owed money by a company in liquidation". That will tell you how to search the register of companies to find the official receiver appointed, at companies house, as well as write to the Click mobile registered head office, asking who the receiver is.

    http://www.insolvency.gov.uk/

You would only be entitled to use your credit card to claim back your loss if the company who you had the contract with has gone bankrupt, if you paid click mobile directly for the contract you have lost money through using your CC, then you would be entitled under the, "consumer credit act 1974" to apply to the CC company for the return of your actual losses.

But as you mention you only paid 3 by CC then they are still in business and providing that service, in that case you would not be entitled to a chargeback unless the above paragraph applied.

Re: Click Mobile UK Ltd has gone bankrupt

they may well have but as the law stands they have limited liability, hence why is called a limited company.

Im not sure how you know they have money in bank accounts but anyway if its the directors it doesnt matter - they are a seperate legal entity from the company.

If the company has money thats a seperate matter - proving it however can be difficult

best thing to do make a claim to the insolvency practioners

Re: Click Mobile UK Ltd has gone bankrupt

I have 2 contracts with Clickmobile, one for a 3g phone and one for Orange. I am waiting for cash back and I can't afford to pay any bills since I haven't had the cash back. It has caused a lot of financial problems for me, and I spoke to Orange about it today.

they said I could not trerminate my contract without buying out, which I cannot affor to do. i took out this contract on the basis of receiving cash back, i didn't need a mobile phone as I already have one.

What can we do? Can we get out of our contracts as the original terms of receiving cash back have been breached? Please someone let me know .

    Thanks

Re: Click Mobile UK Ltd has gone bankrupt

    Nixxy,

Not what you want to hear but the contracts for cash back are with Click Mobile and not the network provider, so I think you have no chance off getting out of the contract with the provider. In my situation buying out the contract or just keeping it is about the same price. When I spoke to 3 they said I could not downgrade the contract rate.

BTW - Does anyone know how click mobile would have been making money out of us since its the network provider who we pay the money to? Was it via a commision they got for each new contract they got for the provider?

Re: Click Mobile UK Ltd has gone bankrupt

    Raj.

Clickmobile make money from the "commission" from the network providers, they were meant to keep a small part and pay the large amount back to us.Remember they signed up thousands of people so the pounds soon build up,some people may even forget or loose the contracts and then not get anything back!

Re: Click Mobile UK Ltd has gone bankrupt

I just checked the companies house website and the status of company is still active, so why do all think that they have gone bankrupt?

Re: Click Mobile UK Ltd has gone bankrupt

    Raj,

Thanks for your response. I shall write to both 3g and Orange saying I want out of the contracts for obvious reasons. I simply can't afford to pay the bills without the cashback, and I'll see what they say. On another Forum, I hear that once someone asked 3g to put it in writing they changed their tune a little, and became more helpful. 3g did tell me that they would see what they can do, and they have a rewards department that may be able to help, but it would take about 4 weeks.

If Orange or 3g wish to take me to Court for non payment, they can go ahead, because un like another victim who will be using credit cards to make the payments, I just can't do that. The non receipt of cash bach has caused me bank charges of £120.00 already. So I am really out of pocket, and don't intend to go any deeper by paying for phones I don't need.

If anyone else has any ideas, suggestions, new informatgion, please share it with all of us here.

    Thanks

Re: Click Mobile UK Ltd has gone bankrupt

    Hi,

I was there on Sat 8th Sept and there was a sign saying the shop will re-open next sunday. However someone else who was trying to get their money back who was there, was told by a nearby resident that the sign has been up for 3 weeks.
