    Re: Class-action lawsuit against Chatterbox.com

    Hi there

I have had NUMEROUS nonsense responses from Chatterbox since March, when I was due final payment. They called me a couple of weeks ago to say they would pay me in September. Now they have even stopped sending these nonsense replies.

I am VERY keen to be involved in a group lawsuit again these people, who, I firmly believe, never had any intention of paying up after a certain date.

Please advise how I can get involved.

    Thanks

    Re: Class-action lawsuit against Chatterbox.com

I have had similar problems with Chatterbox.com and pursued the company via moneyclaim online  They paid the full amount owed to me plus the £30 court costs within 6 days (c.£267) of making the claim.  Their trading address is:-

    Chatterbox.com Ltd

    49 Salusbury Road

    London, NW6 6NJ

    Best of luck.

    Shuharada,

Thanks for throwing up the website to the attention of this forum.  It is great, so far most of the attention of the website is coming from Chatterbox itself.  They and I are the only ones that new about it and they tried to crash my site:

     www.cheatingchatterbox.info

I would be happy to join the legal action against chatterbox:

    shawn AT zivoice.com

     Thanks,
    Shawn

    Hi All,

As all of you I am waiting for my cash back. I get the standard answer, that there is a 'backlog' for all of our customers, blah blah blah. Well, after numerous emails I decided to fight back. So I created a website - it isn't fancy but I hope it spreads the word:

    www.cheatingchatterbox.info

My hope is that people add their cash back statistics and post information. I will then pass all the information on the site over to some of these watch dog shows.

    Thanks all!

    Hi NGB,
Thank you for your interest in this.
I know the chatterbox is a liar. They approved my cashback in early March! But they still can not tell me when to pay me back!
I hope they can pay your money back to you as soon as possible!

To be honest, I started to feel sorry for the employees who work for the chatterbox. They must be under highly stress because of this.
But the chatterbox owes us money, and they should not be get away with this!

    Re: Class-action lawsuit against Chatterbox.com

I am interested.  ngb AT blueyonder.co.uk  To their credit, Chatterbox.com approved my cashback application on the 24th May 2007.  They said I should expect a payment into my account by July 7th.  They have just told me today, July 5th, that I should wait until the end of August.  Again the backlog excuse.  Thank you.

    Re: Class-action lawsuit against Chatterbox.com

It is true. A small claims court is another option, if not many people are interested in the group litigation order.
here, I am finding out roughly how many peple are interested in this group litigation, and I would like to decide how to approach the chatterbox; by just writing letter, or by the group litigation, or by a small claims court, or by other possibilities.
So your idea of A small claims court is good idea too!
    Thanks!

    Re: Class-action lawsuit against Chatterbox.com

    Hi, joy hstn
Thank you very much for your interest in taking a part in this group litigation.

At the moment I don't neet more information from you. But we need a lot more people to be interested in taking a part in this. So let see how many people are going to sign up here. This group litigation order can only be possible only if many people signs up.
This can be very lengthy process (depends on how many people quickly signs up here) and may not be happen.

So, in the mean time, please also individualy keep contacting to the chatterbox to pay you back for your money they owe ( I wish they will pay you back as soon as possible!).

    *****

I wrote a letter to the chatterbox yesterday and I got the phone call from them today. But all they could do was just to aplogise and could not promise when or how early they can pay me back for my money they owe.

They even said, "Do what you like to take a legal steps against us or whatever you like" !!!

Also they said, "the chatterbox never changed their company name to "Generation 3" and they asked me where i got that wrong information" !!!

    Re: Class-action lawsuit against Chatterbox.com

HI Shuharada, I am owed £341 by Chatterbox.com and am ok with being part of the action you speak about - Group Litigation sounds good. i spoke to my local Trading standards who contacted the London branch and they are going to look deeper into it  but say Chatterbox are notoriously slow payers but have always paid up in the end.  At the moment they are still trading; however it is impossible to know what is to come so maybe it is wiser to pre-empt payment through litigation. Please get back to me if you need more information.

    Re: Class-action lawsuit against Chatterbox.com

Yes! Broken Jar and Catastrophica is right about a class-action lawsuit is not possiblt under the UK law.
But do not loose your hopes yet!

I spoke to a very helpful solicitor and she just told me that we can make a "GROUP LITIGATION ORDER" against the chatterbox. the group litigation order is very similar to a class-action lawsuit, but somewhat different from it.

I need many people who are in the same situation like me and are interested in making the group litigation order against the chatterbox.
    Please sign up here!

    *****
A Group Litigation Order can be made in any Claim where there are multiple parties or Claimants to the same cause of action. The Order will provide for the case management of claims which give rise to common or related issues of fact or law. These will be specified in the Order as the GLO Issues. The Law Society may be able to assist in putting the applicant in touch with other parties who may also be interested in applying for a Group Litigation Order in their case. When an Order has been made a Group Register will be set up and maintained in the Management Court, of all the parties to the group of claims being managed. A Group Litigation Order will normally be publicised through the Law Society
