I'd actually posted a link with my reply, but as it was with another website(moneysavingexpert), it appears to have been removed by Moneysupermarket.

Hi Stevem yeah that's what I mean, So are you saying start looking in a couple of months but any offers I fine some mortgage lenders will honour that rateuntil November?

Can you point me in the right direction of these online calculators please?

Re: changing mortgage providers before renewal date

If by "up for renewal in November", you mean that this is the date when any early termination fees would cease to apply, then you should certainly see what is available now - fixed rate offers are starting to change and rates creep up. However, you may need to wait a couple of months as any offer in principle from a lender would have a fixed timescale - it is unlikely this would cover the 5 months or so you appear to be looking for.

If there are termination fees, it depends how much they are, balanced against getting a better deal now, rather than later - there are online calculators that give you an idea of this.

changing mortgage providers before renewal date

My husband currently has a mortgage with the Woolwich. Which we think is up for renewal in November.

We wish to add my name to the mortgage and house, and seek a lower fixed rate mortgage with the current climate offers.

Do you think we would benefit from doing this now or waiting until November? Would we incur any costs?

Any advice welcome on this, thanks in advance.
