    Re: Change here or abroad?

    Hi there,

Many thanks for your reply. That was one of the things I was thinking about; is there a way of paying money into an account abroad so I don't take the money through customs. I don't like carrying lots of cash anyway.

Ah just realised what you said..Pay into a Slovak account and transfer..That sounds like a plan. Many thanks for the help :)

    Excuse the stupidity!

    Tony

Don't think people can answer this, as they won't know the exchange rates in Slovakia. Is there another way ? Can you credit the money to a bank account in Slovakia and do a transfer ?

There are certain customs laws, regarding the bringing of cash through borders. Have you looked into this ? If you are caught with undeclared money above a certain level, it may be confiscated, until you are able to evidence where it has come from.

    Change here or abroad?

Hi, I am getting married in two weeks in Slovakia and part of the traditions are to give envelopes with cash inside.....(lots hopefully)

My question is, should I change the Euros in Slovakia before coming home or in the UK when I get back?

    Thanks for your help :))
