CC Balance Transfer - MBNA Service Which Cards?

    Hullo all!

I am looking to arrange a new card with 0% interest on BT's. I already have a clear Virgin card, but also a Mint cc with a balance I'd like to transfer to a new 0% deal card.

When applying for a new cc, there is always a stipulation that some cards cannot transfer balances from the same family of cards, MBNA being one of them. My question is how does one know whether the new card I'm applying for will accept my BT from my present Mint card? I don't want to apply for a new card, then find out I cannot do my intended transfer!

Apologies if this is a base question, but I find this quite frustrating because like evryone else, I don't want to apply for card after card!

Many thanks in advance for a prod in the right direction.

I believe Mint is associated to the Barclays group, so to get an acceptance for a Egg card who are part of the city financial lot would mean that a balance transfer would not be restricted due to any association with the groups you already hold cards with. Currently 0% until April 2010 (3% fee).

MBNA service the following cards: BT credit card, old Abbey credit cards (not the santander ones), Virgin, most of the older Alliance & Leicester credit cards, but also they do a lot of affinity cards such as breakthrough breastcancer, lufthansa, bmi amex....there's quite a lot of cards that MBNA do because they're the biggest credit card issuer in the UK.Sometimes you'll be surprised what cards are all covered by MBNA! I used to work for them and they had many different brands coming through housed under them. Most of the other big names aren't in the MBNA group so you should be ok.
