    Re: Cash for Gold....

    Hello

I have a small quantity of gold I'd like to sell but being on a low income, want to make sure I get the best price. I am reluctant to use one of the postal gold companies we see all the time on TV. Can anyone advise me on this? Thanks.

Some are okay; but it's a matter of trial and error to find a reliable company who pays the best price with quick payment.

Without spamming; there is no way of providing reliable names, so you will initially have to take a chance to find yourself a specific suitable company.

As above; £8.20 / gram for 9ct Gold and £20.05 / gram for 22ct... is currently achievable, but you can shop around to satisfy yourself on the best prices by searching the internet.

Do not sell for £2.03 ...even pirates offer more. !

    Re: Cash for Gold....

barraman - i thought these rip off scams would be illegal espescially on tv.

Rip off scams are illegal whether they use TV, newspapers or any media or in fact any other means, the hard bit is identifying them; then persuading our slack authorities to take any punitive actions...before the scammers have the opportunity to close down then disappear underground again, only to emerge somewhere else and operate as a separate entity.

The company you mean operate by not offering a upfront price, on receipt they offer disgustingly low prices then hopefully rely on people's ignorance or apathy in not requesting the immediate return of their Gold. ....it looks like it works too judging by the amount of adverts they transmit.!

All that glitters is not always Gold.!

Never send off goods or deal with a company that does not offer the latest spot price beforehand to ensure you are happy, also make sure they pay straight into your bank or other desired method, on the same day as receipt.

    hi,

I had sent my gold to the advert thats on straight after Dickensons real deal and the offer was absolutley disgraceful, i phoned them up and demanded it back, the guy at the end of the phone didnt even try and argue with me, i got the impression that he was getting used to these phone calls. how is this allowed, i thought these rip off scams would be illegal espescially on tv.

That postalgold advert has just been on the telly again.

That guy who introduces the advert is some horrific scary looking geezer, I could just imagine him saying, post me all your Gold, otherwise I will pay you a visit on Halloween".

    Re: Cash for Gold....

Don't go anywhere near the ones that advertise on TV, they need to fund all that advertising and they do it by not paying the going rates for gold. My husband sent off 60 grams of gold to cashmygolduk and received a cheque by return for £70. I knew that was a poor return so returned the cheque asked for the jewelery to be returned. I also asked what they paid per gram but was told that 'it was not their department so they couldn't say'. After waiting 3 weeks the jewelery finally arrived. I then did a comprehensive search and found a company that advertises the price it is paying per gram, everything has to be itemised and weighed before sending off. So I sent the items off once more, within 48 hours I had a phone call saying that they would pay £490. Needless to say I accepted the offer, the man I spoke to was concerned about the postal troubles and rather than post a cheque for the amount actually paid it straight into our account. Hope this helps anyone considering selling their old gold-do your research first!

Very competitive market at the moment, that's why it pays to shop around.
