Re: Carphone Warehouse - Any advice!!

With your to o2 contract so i can get this write you have.

-1 with o2 cpw which you have upgraded

-The second is with o2 direct which has already been upgraded

which way did want to port the number in from so i can get it clear

    amym:

The upgrade was done back in July, I did not realise could not keep my number until about 2/3 weeks ago (as soon as I found out I called the cpw to confirm, I also had to wait for my PAC code from O2 just in case it was not true) which is when I spoke to the loyalty team , they said they would trace the call and get back to me within 72 hours. The guy said he def responded to me but I had told the lady from the loyalty team to call me on my work number as the mobile no associated with the account did not work as my sim did not work. To clarify one of my contracts is on O2 through cpw and for the other is also on O2 and billed directly from o2. The loyalty team guy said yes I was right and that I had been told I can keep my number.

I have never missed a payment, I pay through DD but have cancelled it because I refuse to be billed (next payment due by 5th Nov) for a service I do not want. It annoys me with these places that I have to put so much effort to get a resolution and I am 'locked' in by an unlawful mis-sold contract that could potentially ruin my good credit history, but I am between a rock and a hard place.

No offence intended just that we there to help, not there to be a veral punch bag we at customer service dont profit by dismissing queries.

I disagree with you there by calling up and being ass with customer service will not get you anywere if we could at customer service do everything there and then we would but that department who dealt with the order has to deal with it as policys are set in place to prevent fraud happening. and going to store will not work as it is a different sales channel from customer loyalty.

CH31P4U:ring carphone customer services or complaints or go into store. they should raise a cheque to pay for it.. due to u have been mis-sold to ..which is happening alot.. and there is now a new database called "TUFF" so these sales guys/ladies that are mis-selling to customers telling them its a 12month contract when its a 18... and telling you u can keep ya number, when u cant port from same network contract to contract...MISS -SELLING!!   if they get sacked from a mobile phone company for fraud (mis-selling) they cant get a job in any other mobile phone shop.

I work for cpw customer service and i'm well versed in most situations that can happen. I understand the situation you are in at the moment do you know who is dealing with the issue at the moment, and have you been given a resolution time over the matter.

    - you two have both paying £35.99 each

    - how long ago was the upgrade done

-with cancelling the dd are you aware that an inv surcharge is applied to a/c for not having a dd setup

    - are you pay the invoice on time or are you allowing them to mount up in cost

Hi, basically I phoned Carphone Warehouse back in July to cancel at the end of my 1 year contract, this was a second contract which I had previously taken out to get a new handset, I never used the number so the SIM stopped working. When I phoned to cancel I got put through to the loyalty team, who did the normal, please don't cancel blah blah blah. I ended up staying with them because I was assured I could keep the number from my other phone when that contract expired (I was adament I wanted to keep the number as it is on all of my registrations as I've had it for a few years and the number is easier to remember) and quite I fancied a new O2 xda Orbit, I also upgraded to a £35 a month contract.

2 months later, I find out I cannot keep my number (which is the ONLY reason I stayed with them-as I could of got a new handset on my other contract if I waited for a month of so) as both of my contracts are on O2 and I was unaware you cannot port numbers from the same service provider. I feel I was tricked into signing back up with them and they were charging me £35.99 a month as they also added 0.99p for itemised billing - which I had not agreed to. They have agreed to cancel the contract (which shows they were in the wrong) and want the phone back, which is fair enough but they have charged me over £70 for a service I feel I was tricked into and never got any use out of (the replacement SIM I ordered never arrived). I am not really sure what I should do next as I feel the whole situation should be resolved to reflect what would of happened if I had cancelled when I had previously planned to, ie. they get the phone back (which I feel they should sent a courier to collect) and I get a refund of the money they took from me, especially as I am currently paying around £70 for two contracts because I cannot cancel either until the situation is resolved. I have stopped my DD but I do not want to return the phone until I have some sort of resolution because if I return it, they close my account but I end up being the only one out of pocket.

Any advice would be much appreciated
