    Re: carcraft or motornation

I am not too sure about motornation, not dealt with them before. As for the other one I nearly bought a car from there couple of years ago. I only pulled out the deal because I felt they were pushing me to take a car finanance out. Basically I went there for a Corsa and test drove it but after the finance was finalised I pulled out and said no. I felt forced because 2-3 sales man was starring at me and basically they wanted me to sign the finance document

Just wonder if ppl who been in carcraft that most wheel trims are different to the one in the main dealers. Like one car I saw, it should have alloys but instead they put some steel wheel on instead. It would be quite dangerous if they swapped things in the engine with second hand parts.

I havent dealt with either, but previous posts havent been that complimentary about them.

I also have just done a quick check on motornations website, and their prices compared to Parkers Guide appear to be on the slightly high side.

    Re: carcraft or motornation

about 3 years ago i brought a car from a car supermarket.

was the worse thing that i ever did. within 3 weeks gearbox and electric windows had gone. it took 3 long months and the small claims court to get my money back as car was sold in bad state!

i would never get another car from supermarket, i spent lttle extra and got car from main dealer

I agree entirely with chasb above, why use these so called supermarkets when there is an abundance of devoted efficient genuine car dealerships, and good friendly independant garages ? You get a lot better often cheaper deal, without using the dodgy cattlemarket type car dealers, like the above named.

The knowledge of the trade a dealer or independant garage has is far superior, also the deals and finance are usually always better, not to mention the approachability that you have, along with good aftersales back up and service.

I would not touch the above named, even if they started doing a, "buy one get one free" offer, which would really suit their type of selling.

    Re: carcraft or motornation

Hi , you will find a lot of  cars sold by companies like those , are cars you would not be sold by a " propper" garage . A large number will be ex- fleet / or have hard to prove history and previous lives, be "grey" imports or even worse !  If you do buy from one of these outfits , it is essential that you get a full inspection done by either the AA or RAC ... it will cost a few hundred £'s but could save you a lot of money and or stress and problems in the future. The faults that the inspection   WILL find may also enable you to negotiate on the price or even walk away from a "Nasty "

You may be told by them that the cars are AA or RAC approved , but these checks will have been carried out by the garage itself , so can in some cases be worthless.

I have been in the motor trade for 20 yrs , and i have come across many people who have had problems with "supermarket " car centers  . I remember several years ago one person was sold a write off that had rebuilt and was a death trap .... that company has now gone out of business !

Also remember that if you do have a problem with the car , you will not get any back up or help from them , and the warranty they give will have very limited cover ..... but they will tell you otherwise !!!!

    Good luck !
