Car Insurance for one month rather than a year

I need to insure my car, but will only need cover for a month rather than a year as I plan to see it (I won't be getting another car). Any suggestions on the cheapest way to do this? I am finding that a months cover is not offered by many and if it is, it is very expensive. I did consider paying for the year and then cancelling the policy after a month but it takes some time to get the money back.

    Any ideas or suggestions appreciated.

    Thanks

    Hiya,

You could take the policy out for a year, and pay by direct debit, that way you wont have to wait for refund. You pay the first months deposit, and when you sell the car, cancel the policy and the direct debit.

However, it may be that the first direct debit payment does not actually cover the whole of the cover you have, so it may be the insurance company request the difference.
