Short term insurance tends to be relatively expensive but there's no harm in getting a quote or two. If she needs insurance in February & March, it'll probably be best to renew in February. Otherwise, if she can manage without a car for a few weeks, she can renew in March.

Insurance companies rob drivers, young and old. Changing the renewal date by a few weeks might mean that you get robbed just a little less.

My daughter will be 25 in March 2012. Her car insurance is due to be renewed in February.

It seems to be a given that it is cheaper for the over 25s but I wonder if that will be factored in to the quotes she will get in January.

Would it be worth extending her current policy until March and getting a new quote after her 25th birthday, or will insurers take her upcoming birthday into account?

Also - any suggestions for a good place to look?
