    car insurance cancellation

I had a car insurance quote on your web site last year and decided to buy my car insurance from ibuyeco.I had a renewal qoute from themselves again this year and decided not to use them again as there quote was too high. They are now going to charge me £132 for cancelling the policy. Can they do this legally ? Secondly is there anyway you can highlight this to other web browsers so they can avoid this company.

Were they trying to renew the policy for another year on the basis that, even though you didn't say "yes", you also didn't say "no"? Is the charge for last year's or next year's policy?

    Re: car insurance cancellation

I'm sorry to say that I'm not at all surprised with your experience. I was insured with these guys when I had an accident. I was stationary and hit from behind. After months and months of waiting, the third party accepted liability and settled in full with the insurance company. When it came time to renew my policy it had trebled. I made 8 phone calls to say, there must be a mistake, it wasnt my fault and every time I was told "while it want your fault, you are more of a risk"

So I said I am cancelling my policy then and then they tried to hit me with a £380 fee for cancelling!!

Really really bad company to deal with - avoid at all costs.
