    Re: Car insurance

    Hi

The best way is to have the policy is your sole name and then add your daughter on as a temporary addditional driver, as and when required. It only takes a quick phone call each time and your Insurers will add her on for a specific period of time. But if you add her on too often, it will start to add up.

    Car insurance

I am the policy holder for a Ford Ka - I am 57 and female with a clean driving licence so can get very cheap insurance. My daughter is the only named driver on the policy - she is 18 and has passed her test 6 months ago so this puts the premiums up considerably. However she is now away at University and will only be driving during her visits home. Is there any way I can get a cheaper premium when she will not be driving the car? I'm desperate to save money!!
