You need to ask your question to the finance company but I expect that they will refuse unless you settled the old agreement and started a new one which would be an expensive option.

Personal loans, however, can be settled with a penalty of no more than 2 monthly payments.

I have got a car on finance which i still have 2 years left before i can return it to the dealer or pay the balloon payment... However i'm looking to buy a house with my partner and due to her an existing loan we have been told that we need to get rid of one of the outgoings to be able to get a mortgage,

Now i know i can afford the car and the mortgage so the question is ( finally got there ) is can i move the car finance into someone else's name i.e. family or friend and then i will just give them the cash direct. if so will the log book have to go in their name or can it stay in mine?
