Hi
Im new to the community and would appreciate any advice you can offer - Ok here goes
I bought a used car from a reputable dealership- Put 2k deposit down and took the remainder 2995 out on finance - The car had a few minor faults after 8 days of driving so i took the car back to the dealer to say i wasnt happy with it for numerous reasons - The car was a Network Q approved with a 30 day exchange policy - Got the car finance cancelled within the 14 days cooling off period and the dealership wrote out a cheque to pay off the finance and said they would use the car i was returning as part exchange - They did say i would lose some money but I thought that would have been the added interest of the days i had the car.
Anyway i exchanged the car which was 1k more expensive than the last car but was a much better car in everyway - Got the finance agreement through on Sat and it states the price the of car to buy is £5995 which is correct and amount of credit borrowed with the finance company is £5995- Im just wondering what happened my deposit and if the car was used in part exchange should something not have came off the price
Car Number 1 was 4995 ( Its a used car so it wouldnt have depreciated in 10 days) minus deposit was 2995 needed for the finance- The settlement cheque the dealership wrote was for 3419 which was what they finance company wanted to settle so i know i have lost money on the interest -But this leaves a difference of £1576 between the settlement and the car i returned so Im just wondering should the difference not have came off car number 2
Car Number 2 was £5995 and they sent me a finance agreement to say its still for £5995 - im just confused as to what happened my deposit and can i really lose 2thousand pounds in such a short space of time - Im still in the 14 day right to cancel period .
I contacted the dealership who say they have invoices and prices that justify the costs but i know they can talk me round in circles and i still wouldnt understand
Hope this makes sense and any advice would be appreciated
