    Fenny

I followed your advice and had a meeting with trading standards office of fair trading today who are disgusted that this dealership tried this and thought they could get away with it - They are beginning an investigation which starts Monday its very serious . I have been informed that they should have taken the finance off the trade in or if they agreed to do the exchange it should have been done with the Network Q 30 day exchange as the car had faults even though they were minor they weren't advertised as having faults when i bought the car . As far as they are concerned the finance for the second car should have been started fresh and the 2k used as a down deposit of the second car giving me an agreement of £3995 not £5995

We were in agreement that the only money i should have lost was what the finance company were charging me for the 10 days i had the car which added up to 100 pounds but even at that they still want to know why I wasn't given the exchange as promised-

Trading standards carefully looked through all my documentation and and have stated this is all wrong and have agreed to take the case on and work on my behalf

As for the Guard x this is classed as being mis-sold and unless i was told how much it cost and agreed to it they had no right to add it into the finance even if i did sign the agreement I wasn't told how much this product was to buy

Got a call from the dealership today asking if i would come in and have a chat as they have now decided to give me a goodwill gesture on the car - I have agreed to meet with them but have informed them that the office of fair trading will be in contact - I also told them that i didn't want the to talk me round in circles so they either write me a cheque for my deposit or re-do the finance

I think now that Trading standards are involved its too late as they will take it further even if i do get the money back it never should have happened in the first place

So anyone reading this - always seek professional advice regarding money and finance as if i had listened to the dealership and everyone else i would be 2k down so now at least it looks hopeful

    Re: Car Finance and dealership

    Hi Fenny

I really appreciate your advice and will follow through with his immediatley - The other thing is we discovered they added into the finance of the first car this car protector cleaning kit that cost 249 - At no point during the sale with myself my mum and dad did anyone tell us that this would cost 249 - They did tell me just before i drove the car away how great this stuff was and showed me the bag it came in - I told all my friends about this great gesture and thought it was like a complimentary gift from them for buying the car. I nearly took a heart attack when it was added into the finance - so they sneaked it in and added interest on it and spread the 249pound over the 4 year finance

When we got the second car i told them i didn't want this product and they assured me it wouldnt be in the new agreement - It wasn't but when the settled the previous agreement it was for 3419 - I don't think 10 days interest for 2995 would add up to 424 pound - so they paid off the last settlement to include the gurad x and we just realised that must be why the settlement was so high

They talked us round in circles and we trusted them as they were nice -

Thank you so much for this i didn't think it sounded right - I was told i would lose some money but almost dies when i realised how much -

I will get back to you with an update - I want to cancel the finance and leave the car back and get back at least some of my deposit - but the finance is in Mums name and im worried sick this will ruin her credit history

    Chat soon

    Sparkles1.

I would contact theGarage and ask to speak to the Owner/ Dealer principle.Ask for a complete breakdownof what you have paid, If you get no joy from them contact the C.A.B. A.S.A.P. These people are taking you for a mug. At the very least they sold you a car that was not fit for purpose, and should have given you a complete refund. You are in effect paying £7995 for the car. You may also contact Network Q, and make a complaint to them.

    Car Finance and dealership

    Hi

Im new to the community and would appreciate any advice you can offer - Ok here goes

I bought a used car from a reputable dealership- Put 2k deposit down and took the remainder 2995 out on finance - The car had a few minor faults after 8 days of driving so i took the car back to the dealer to say i wasnt happy with it for numerous reasons - The car was a Network Q approved with a 30 day exchange policy - Got the car finance cancelled within the 14 days cooling off period and the dealership wrote out a cheque to pay off the finance and said they would use the car i was returning as part exchange - They did say i would lose some money but I thought that would have been the added interest of the days i had the car.

Anyway i exchanged the car which was 1k more expensive than the last car but was a much better car in everyway - Got the finance agreement through on Sat and it states the price the of car to buy is £5995 which is correct and amount of credit borrowed with the finance company is £5995- Im just wondering what happened my deposit and if the car was used in part exchange should something not have came off the price

Car Number 1 was 4995 ( Its a used car so it wouldnt have depreciated in 10 days) minus deposit was 2995 needed for the finance- The settlement cheque the dealership wrote was for 3419 which was what they finance company wanted to settle so i know i have lost money on the interest -But this leaves a difference of £1576 between the settlement and the car i returned so Im just wondering should the difference not have came off car number 2

Car Number 2 was £5995 and they sent me a finance agreement to say its still for £5995 - im just confused as to what happened my deposit and can i really lose 2thousand pounds in such a short space of time - Im still in the 14 day right to cancel period .

I contacted the dealership who say they have invoices and prices that justify the costs but i know they can talk me round in circles and i still wouldnt understand

Hope this makes sense and any advice would be appreciated
