    Car Finance

    Hiya folk's.

Ok... iv been given some information from a friend at work which i have never known and would like to run it past you fine people.

As your probably aware from my previous posts regarding my car finance with British Credit Trust, im trying any avenue to get rid of the car. Im not fussed on the finance itself as im not struggling anymore to pay it but i dont want the car itself, not had it long enough to hand it back and theres too much owed to sell it.

But now i think i have a shining light =) the friend told me.... "Scott, you can call the finance company and ask them to take the finance off your car and put it on you so its more like a personal loan, leaving your car hpi/finance free allowing you to sell it"

    Is this right?

    thx people

    Re: Car Finance

Does sound likely. You could take a loan from elsewhere to repay the finance.

    Re: Car Finance

Sorry i should have mentioned everything. I can't get a personal loan from another company or bank simply as they decline me... no idea why, never missed a payment on anything in my life. (think its my income versus my outgoings) what does it.

Anyhoo, personal loans with other companys wont happen, too much left on the car to pay it off myself, also too much left on it to sell it to clear finance. And have only had the car around 15months so not long enough or payed enough to hand it back.

The company just yesterday accepted me for a further £8,000 to trade the car in. So i must be a good customer on there systems.

If anyone has used this company before and knows they do this it would be a great help? as i know these companys dont have any legal obligation to tell there customers every option available to them and im scared they will say its not available then offer me further finance to change the subject.

    Re: Car Finance

I just want to get rid of the car itself. I think you all will understand when i mention its an MG =/ MG ZR to be precise and its nothing but a skip on wheels. With all the problems the car has it would cost me more than a grand to put right and they have all gone wrong after the warranty........

The payments on the finance are fine, the car is not. If they dont allow me to change the finance into a personal loan of some sort allowing me to sell the car then my only option is to dive further into debt by trading it in and part X'ing. A thousand pounds to put right the problems with the MG is obviously cheaper than part X'ing but with the state of the car and the amount of hatred i have towards it, id much rather add to the finance by trading in than keeping it and having a constant headache.
