    Yes, he should tell them. However, as this will result in an increased premium, many people don't.

    Hello,

    Basically my housemate successfully crashed a wrote off his car the other day. It was his fault and no other cars were involved, just a wall which survived the ordeal. As he was 3rd party hes unable to claim and wouldnt want to anyway (new driver and car was only worth £500)

    Should he tell his insurance company about the crash when he cancels his policy and when/if he gets a new car should he tell them about it?
