    Car Breakdown Insurance

The following circumstances may be of interest

I received a renewal from "Green Flag" for the above.. The designated premium had increased by 33% from the current year despite not making use of the service. The new figure also claimed to have a "no call-out" discount!

I compared available policies and identified cheaper opportunities with virtually the same cover. However, before deciding I checked my current insurer's web site as a new customer and established that I could obtain a new policy with the same benefits for approximately 40% less than the renewal! This included an internet discount.

Following contact with the call centre, the person answering my call did not appear to be surprised over the differential, and accepted that I intended to cancel the renewal.

It does appear that loyalty and continuing business is not rewarded as much as attempting to gain new business.

    Re: Car Breakdown Insurance

Similar applies when renewing motor and home insurance, it always pays to shop round... loyalty is not rewarded, make absolutely sure the intended cover is adequate for your particular needs, but very importantly remember the cheapest is not always the best value cover. !
