Hi,
I've just applied for a Capital One card because it advertises 0% on new purchases until September 2009 (Oct '09 now, on this site).
Firstly, their online application sucks. I got a message "We're currently processing your application, this should take no longer than 60seconds, if the result is not shown by then please press refresh."
When refresh is pressed, the same message is shown.
Ad infinitum.
Which just got annoying after ten minutes.
Then, after the third application (I hope I'm not perceived as desperate here!) I finally get a message "You'll be contacted in the post".
Post came today. "Unfortunately we've turned you down for the advertised deal, but here's another deal, 0% on new purchases until May 2009" (Not nearly as good).
I've a perfect credit rating, and always have had. I used to get annoyed with capital one at the amount of junk mail they'd send to me.
Hence I'm possibly a little hostile to this company.
Does anyone know of anyone who's actually received the advertised offer? Or is this another case of hard to prove false advertising?
p.s. I don't know why I'm so annoyed, I'm just using the "0% purchases" for a little mortgage stoozing......
-Andy.
