Sounds like the lack of credit history is the problem here. Without having anything to judge your credit worthiness on they wont take the risk imo.

Have you checked your credit report to see if there are any issues on it?

Any advice gratefully appreciated....

Trying to get a loan for £12k. I visited the bank where I have my business account but they are unable to help and not enough history with them so I went to my own bank whom i've been with for over 10 years.

ive never had an overdraft or any sort of facility of credit with them - most likely because i've never needed it and never asked. On paper, I have banked with them for over 10 years with no debt to my name and a completely clear credit score. I can more than afford the monthly repayments and the bank advisor cannot understand why it wouldnt go through yet no one is able to tell me why or offer any other solutions.

Any suggestions as to why I cant get a loan or where I could turn too without going down the lenders for adverse credit route.
