Clio_16v_Man:They could actually hold you to the full term of the contract or make it difficult for you to get out of it. One tactic they have been known to employ is to ask you to pay off the remainder of the contract. Having worked with Sky in the past, they used to brief agents that the only way you can get out of a Sky agreement is to either call them and tell them you have been made redundant and can't afford it any longer or to stop paying and then pay the collection agency demand in full and this wouldn't harm your credit rating as it wouldn't have been near the court.
At the end of the day, they are in the business of making substancial amounts of money and they don't like people to go to easy. If you simply tell them you are moving, they will try anything to get you to take your equipment with you or offer to re-install it at the new house free of charge because the contract is the thing that i worth the money, not the install. On this point, tell them you are moving to a protected 'green' area that does not allow sat dishes and the house is fitted with cable tv.

Your a life saver, thats what I will be doing soon, moving house to a green area (the back garden) :)

    Cancelling Sky and SkyBB

We've had Sky for years and in December we ordered SkyBB, which have both been working fine with no complaints.

Now the problem. It looks like we're going to have to sell the house and that will mean having to cancel sky.

I know I'm still well within in the minimum contract term for the broadband, although the Sky TV should be fine to cancel.

How badly can I expect Sky to come down on me?

Is there a one off payment of about £50, or are they going to try and get the full term out of me, and is there anything I can do about avoiding such a harsh penalty.

    Thanks.
