Thanks for that. I think I just needed confirmation that my policy did not exclude this. Hopefully our holiday with go without any problems.

    Thanks again.

If the policy does not mention any exclusion for pandemic or epidemic, then the policy would cover you in line with the policy terms and conditions. I had a quick look at the policy and could see no exclusion either.

See other thread about the Swine flu issue http://www.moneysupermarket.com/community/forums/t/swine-flu-travel-insurance-and-doctors-notes-36881.aspx

In regard to cancellation cover, only you will know whether £1000 is enough and is it likely that medical expenses would exceed £2 million.

If you are travelling in Europe it always worth having the EHIC card. see https://www.ehic.org.uk/Internet/home.do

Why don't you phone the Insurance company and ask them for information about this issue and upgrade your policy to their deluxe offering if you need the extra reassurance.

Can I up my Travel Insurance because of swine flu?

I have the undernoted cover through this site but I am now concerned that this will not be enough should my husband or I contact swine flu. I have read the policy and I cannot see anywhere that it mentions "pandemic cover". Would it be advisable to up this policy?

Cover: Preferential Direct Classic Single Trip
    Cost: £16.49
    Destination: Turkey
    Medical Expenses Cover: £2000000
    Personal Liability: £2000000
    Cancellation Cover: £1000
    Baggage Cover: £1000
    Personal Accident Cover: £5000
