I lost my virginity 20+ years ago - can I get that back? You bought the shoes - you've worn the shoes for 6 months and you ruined the shoes.. answer is easily a no.

Thank you Mallory. Yes, we'll have less of your sarcasm Mr Skywalker - it isn't appreciated by anyone.

I went to Clarks today and explained the situation - that I'd bought the shoes when I did and they gave me an exchange of up to two thirds of the price I paid. It was a goodwill gesture and they were very polite. So, it was worth going in there.

I'll be a little gentler than Skywalker; but what he says is essentially the truth.

I used to work for Clarks and their standard policy is that shoes are only guaranteed for up to 3 months unless otherwise stated. Basically, Clarks have no way of knowing if a customer is telling the truth about how often or how little they've worn their shoes, so they have to err on the side of caution and have a set procedure and policies in place for everyone. They cannot guarantee how the shoes have been stored (which can have an effect on deterioration) so it's unfair of you to expect a refund of exchange after 6 months of use. Add to this the fact that you probably won't have your receipt and therefore they can't prove how much you paid, or when you actually got them.

Some Clarks stores MAY give you an exchange under goodwill, but they're certainly not obliged to. By all means go and ask, but don't kick up a stink if you're refused as you're not legally entitled to one.

This is a joke right? You damage the shoe and you want to return it? Perhaps you also might consider consulting a solicitor to see if you can sue them. And you are a teacher - so you are teaching kids this kind of attitude?

    Ridiculous.

Can I return shoes 6 months after I bought them?

Hello all, I bought a pair of shoes from Clarks for about £40 just before Christmas. I am a teacher so I don't stomp around the place too much, nor do I wear them everyday. However one shoe has 'torn' and so rendering the pair difficult to wear. They look in very good condition apart from this rip. Do I stand much chance of getting a refund/ exchange under the Sales of Goods Act?

    thank you.
