I think they may want a 12 month contract out of you first before giving you 6 months free.

Bit of news with me, They got in touch and are applying a credit for £169 which is 6 months free broadband!!!! Which is good, however, would I still be within my rights if I cancelled it?

Re: CAN I GET OUT OF MY BT BROADBAND CONTRACT EARLY

I have been in touch again there may be a get out clause here. The advisor admitted that if it was not applied on the first bill it is a breach of contract. The credit was not applied. , So I can technically get out, however what may shaft me is the advisor was not sure but she thinks you can only take up 1 BT offer at a time and it may be this that shafts me. At the time I had option 3 calling offer, could anyone confirm this?

If you complain maybe otherwise you will incur the charge.

    Hello nirelandguy,

Really you need to change provider but until then my advice is to put your complaint into writing as soon as possible, calling the comedy call centre won't do you much good.

Once in writing call back and refer to the letter and get the compliant escalated to a manager if possible and start logging every call, who, when and what was the outcome in a diary.

Next call OFCOM and log the complaint and ensure you put a time scale on the letter for your ISP to respond within and make sure OFCOM get a copy.

Finally if this does not work, bite the bullet and change providers.

    Kind Regards,

    Michael.

CAN I GET OUT OF MY BT BROADBAND CONTRACT EARLY

I signed 6 months ago with one of these offers 6 months at £9.99 to appear as a credit on your first bill. My first bill came and no credit and was bill over £200, this was for the previous 3 months and the next 3. And as I say no sign of the credit. Surely this must breach terms and conditions does it not?

On to the next issue, from the day my BBand went live I was getting dial up speeds during the day, The day it went live I actually phoned to cancel and they said I couldn't as it had already went live, over ther past months they ahve tested the line and done all sorts, but they can test it as much as they want, they traffic shape during the day and no amount of testing will fix this. I get download speeds of 10Kbps between about 9am and 12am after that I can hit speeds of about 500-600kbps

There has to be some way of getting out surely as this is not what they advertised? I phoned them up to question the credit, the advisor said I did get a credit on my first bill but I checked and I didn't, I phoned again the advisor said I was put on some legacy package which didnt have an offer, I knew I did have an offer so phoned again and asked "If I didn't have any offer etc would I have got a free hub and phone?" No the advisor said.

So they are messing me about.

    Any advice?
