Lombard havent taken your husbands details into account (ie his income) but they need to take the mortgage into account as it is in joint names. Therefore you would be best to include his details so that they deem you able to afford the loan.

    Can anyone explain to me....

I recently applied to 'top up' my lombard loan, having already received my experian report which read ok to me, no defaults, no missed payments all fine. I was declined, and was really shocked, obviously they can't tell me why but she did say it might be because our mortgage payment is higher than my income. I applied as a single applicant, and they did ask for my mortgage payment, even though it comes out of my husbands account and I know they have to take that into account as it is joint. However, hubby takes home £2800 per month and our mortgage is £900 and I take home £888 per month. What i dont understand is that my husband can easily cover the mortgage and it wasn't in a joint application yet she thinks this is the reason. Could anyone maybe try and explain this to me, there is no point me getting my experian as i already have it. All i wanted to do was to consolidate my existing credit cards into one payment and i naively thought i would have no problem.

    Many Thanks
