Re: Call Charges for 08xx numbers for MAAF

thanks, i now also found a rather detailed list of all 0844 prices from orange... there they explained all those call group abbreviations like g18 or i8... quite confusing, but now i know what i will pay for those 0844 numbers... cause they are not priced all the same, as with 0845...

    so long,

Each call prefix has its own charge band but usually you'll find the following:

0800 = free to call from a landline

0845 and 0844 = local call rate (ie: around 4p per minute from a land line)

0870 = national call rate and varies.

ALL 08xx numbers are classified as non-geographic and most of the mobile networks will charge for 0800 numbers.

The 0870 whingers managed to destroy the 0870 numbers for small businesses so expect to pay for every service now.

    SHARK!

Call Charges for 08xx numbers for MAAF

    Hello,

I just switched my line to MAAF (due to not having a 12 month contract and very cheap international call charges when compared to their mother BT - see the thread below). However I find their call charges list ( http://www.madasafish.com/call-cost-calculator/talkcallcosts.pdf ) quite confusing.

Does anyone know about the call charges for non-geographic numbers? I found they have to categories (local, non local) but I thought all 08xx numbers are non-geographic and thus non local?

So what are the charges for 0800 (I suppose this being 'freephone'?), 0844, 0845, 0870, any other 08 numbers?

Thanks a lot in advance and best regards,

    Mathias
