Re: Buy the pack with the Union Jack

with a young family to support I'm afraid i have to buy the best bargain i can find, i do worry about the state of the nation, and how hard it will be for my kids to find jobs etc, but it's not as simple as just buying British, we have to import goods as well as export, i do find it hard to rationalise the fact that anchor butter (for one example) is imported from NZ when we can provide more than enough butter to supply the whole country, however, there are goods that are not available British made/grown, and, with more people struggling to pay household bills etc, it's a bit mean to expect people to shell out extra for those that are available at a higher price...every penny counts in my house!!

You sound a little like you're replying to someone... not quite sure who, as you don't state that, just go off on one about how people don't buy British goods. I'd find it difficult to only purchase British goods. I wouldn't be able to have a TV, a computer, almost any other electrical goods, I wouldn't have any coffee, any tea, I wouldn't have any trainers, I could go on. We are a global society, and although I agree that British food tastes nicer (when it's not been frozen for transit), I disagree with you about it costing the same. Also I do think that your post is bordering very nearly on racism, which will not be accepted.

At the end of the day, if I can save money, I will.

In my household recession means TO TIGHTEN THE BELT! Not greed!

It's not about bagging a bargain, it's about saving money! I will buy whatever is cheapest, without looking on the label! Maybe when my salary starts going up I will be able to pick and choose the better product!

Buy the pack with the Union Jack

So another word for Recession is Greed?

You make me sick! You are all so busy trying to get yourselves a bargain... usually foreign... that you cannot see there is no such thing. We get what we pay for... but someone is paying the difference!

If we want our jobs back or want our children to have jobs, then buy British Goods and Services and not foreign... unless of course we can explain to our unemployed Children and Grandchildren why we are always helping with Chinese jobs... or Asian... or anybody elses for that matter... except ours!

But never mind... at least it was a bargain! Eh?

The money we save on our so called bargain is paid for from our Taxes in British jobs... possibly our Childrens' jobs. There will certainly not be enough left over in the Exchequer for their Schooling or their health after all the increasing unemployment Benefits are paid. Tough.

Why not start looking on the label... and buy British.
