    Re: business electricity usage

Utility Warehouse do not use contracts or fixed prices so I can switch at any time. The current rate is openly quoted in their tariff booklets at 10.118p/kwh plus £1.75 monthly standing charge for the Yorkshire region with profiles 01 & 02 (that's the first part of the jumble of numbers in the box on the bill) plus £2 per month membership. It will go up and down with other fuel prices.

There's a bit of a problem with my supply though because I have been charged on someone else's meter for several years and I only discovered this in the course of taking the readings for the switchover but when I talked to Utility Warehouse on the phone, they seemed quite sensible about sorting things out. My first impressions of them are good but I obviously don't want to rave about them until what could be quite a messy problem gets dealt with.

Thanks for your reply and I feel more confident about signing up. Do you mind me asking what rate Utility Warehouse charge you for commercial electricity usage and how long your contract is? Also, do they let you switch without penalty?

That doesn't sound too bad if you are planning to stay for 3 years. Some contracts let you move out without penalty. I recently signed up with Utility Warehouse and they seem ok so far.

    business electricity usage

Scottish Power supply electricity to my shop. They have offered me a commercial unit rate of 11.75 fixed over 3 years which is competitive but I will be tied to a contract over the period. Is this the right thing to do?

    Thanks
