    Re: Buildings insurance

The normal procedure would be to take out a policy for the whole building and share the cost between yourself and the other leaseholder. You should talk to the leaseholder first to see whether any such plans are acceptable or to discuss alternatives.

    Buildings insurance

I am the freeholder of a detached building which was purpose-built as two flats. I own the first floor flat and the ground floor is on a lease.

Do I need to insure the whole building or just my flat??

    thanking you in anticipation
