    Re: bt probs

well on the bill it refers to other charges but does not specify what these other charges are?? i have called on numerous occasions but cannot seem to make any headway of what the charges refer to...this amount is not small either it is 284.00!!!!

this was on my last quarter bill...like i say i have contacted them about this and they did not seem to want to do anything about this or to help me so i have cancelled my payment method as i am not paying 284.00 for "other charges". i advised i would pay for the other part of the bill...but they are now demanding the full amount.....argh...what do i do??

    thanks lisa

    Re: bt probs

First things first. You mention that BT has disconnected your voice line due to you disputing a bill. They would not do this as a "first" measure so there has to be more than this to the story. Yes, your Internet connection will remain for a short time afterwards as this is a different business unit to the voice services, but they will catch on and the service will probably stop shortly afterwards.

Basically no-one is going to offer you service whilst this broo-ha-ha is going on with BT. BT will have tagged the line and whilst you are in contract with them no-one else can put services on the line. Your credit history may also cause some concern, but it may not be a show-stopper.

So it is back to the original issue - what's the dispute? Did you make the calls, or did someone in your family make the calls leading to the size of the bill or is there something else in this equation we don't know about. We try to help here as much as possible, but we do need more information on the basic issue that you have which is not best served by trying to run away from the problems.

    SHARK!

i currently have bt for phone line and broadband, my phone line is suspended at the minute because i have a dispute with a rather large quarterly bill, my house phone is not working but my internet is still. I have been told my BT that my service will be completly terminated around the 20th of november, my question is this....while i have these issues with bt does this stop me from getting internet through another provider???? Once the line is terminated does this mean i do not have a phone line.....as the line technically is still there but with no service or number attatched???

And if i can go to another provider do BT have to agree? do the new providers contact your old provider??

also my credit is not that great so if anyone knows anything that could help me please do
