I live in a borough where internet access is free in all the libraries and internet cafe access is getting cheaper all the time. Is there any way you could ditch your home bb and use public bb?

BT is DOUBLING the cost of a telephone call.

Yet again the affluent majority celebrate whilst the poor with low usage requirements are attacked. BT is widely publicising that it "keeps cutting its call package prices." Yet in the same leaflet the small print points out the the minimum cost for a call for those who don't buy a bundle is DOUBLING from 3p to 6p. This is a swingeing blow against the poor.

(And please don't mention the light usage scheme. The light usage scheme is not available to those who use ADSL. And if you don't need a telephone line for broadband, you use a mobile, not a landline.)
