    Re: BT contracts

I have just been reading and seen on the Television about BT spying on peoples use of there home and business PC .The best thing i have heard from them is that they have said it is not illegal WHAT?

This is another reason to gey away from these so called Giants BT ,British Gas etc.Why do people still use them as they have rubbish customer service and do not provide value for money

The last thing is they tie people into contracts how can this be fair as people may have bad service and want to move on are they trying to stop people SquashingBills .

    Re: BT contracts

Thanks for your replies, BT are busy moving the goalposts at the moment. I am on option 1 at the moment and wish to move providers after my 12 month sentence. If I do nothing and wait till August (end of 12 months) will I be free to move without penalty or cancellation charge? I realise this is a difficult question at the moment. I have tried to follow the latest leaflet but have a tendency to get lost half way through. Thanks BB

    Re: BT contracts

It may have changed but I took out Option 3 for the short term. I was told to cancel it when I had finished and the only drawback was that I would have to pay for the service first and await a refund when I cancelled which would be credited to my next bill. All I can say is that it worked for mel Was I just lucky?

    Re: BT contracts

No, you may not alter your call plan for the balance of your minimum term. You can only start a brand new 12 month minimum term. And even after the end of that 12 month contract, you can then only enter a brand new 12 month contract - you can no longer cancel without penalty after your initial minimum term. (Some options are 18 months, not 12 months.)

What is particularly offensive is the way that BT is bombarding customers with lots of special offers and 'free' upgrades and packages to try to trick customers into changing their contracts.

    Re: BT contracts

Thanks, I do realise that, but would like to change to option 3 for the remainder of my initial 12 months. I then intend to move provider. Does anyone have a definitive answer to my question in my first post please?

    Re: BT contracts

You would be better off by going to one of the other phone companies. BT has appalling customer service, you can read about it in another topic with over 75 posts in agreement.

    BT contracts

Hi everybody, I realise I could get the answer from BT But don't really trust them. My question is- If I change my calling plan with BT from option 1 to option 3 will they tie me in to another 12/18 month contract? Thanks BB
