    Re: BT Broadband Contract End

Hi access, understand your concerns, does look iffy but have to say been using Quidco for about a year now and had £360 back for various deals. Best has been car insurance, got 2 cars insured fully comp for under £100 net. Latest has been £60 back for a mobile phone contract and £70 pending for signing up with E-On.

Only 2 failed transactions so far out of 50 transactions, one from Carphone warehouse (supposed to do the deal totally online but had to phone up due to payment glitch) and another for a clothing company for £1.60, haven't bothered to look into it.

Lots of transactions for DVDs etc for pennies but all mounts up.

Trick is to find cheapest deal online then see if a cashbackdeal is better, sometimes the cashback deal isn't as good as just buying in a sale etc..

£10 membership fee comes out of your earnings so you don't notice it.

Haven't used other cashback sites so can only speak for Quidco experience.

By coincidence car insurance renewal forms arrived today. Via Quidco will get 3rd party, fire and theft for £91 less £70 cashback from RAC so £21 net. Result!

    Re: BT Broadband Contract End

    Dear fnarrr

"Cashbacks" looked mouthwatering on my initial "Google" - Quidco reviews - Then I saw that one site headed up with a customer review which in length and presentation made me suspicious. It was then followed with all 5 star reviews. Another site had reviews of either 1 or 5 stars and the 1 star reviews certainly looked genuine.

As a member can you shed any light on this oddity and just in general terms say if your "Casbacks" have all been very successful, mostly but the odd problem, that sort of thing.

    Thanks very much.

You will be liable to pay BT for the minimum term you signed up for but note that the MAC is valid for 30 days. This means that the losing company is entitled to charge for 30 days service even if the transfer is completed sooner. So you can obtain you MAC and pass it to O2 before the deal ends and only end up paying BT what you contractually owed them anyway.

That's assuming BT provides you the MAC immediately and doesn't try any delaying tactics which loses you the O2 offer.

    Re: BT Broadband Contract End

Just been through the mill with this one for a friend. First notice period now is 14 days for contracts or no contracts so here the period is 14 days to 3 September. You can leave when you like and BT charge you till the end of the contract. What ended on Friday was the two free months. As far as I'm aware the 30 day happiness promise is still in place. I DON'T mean to cause offence but I did this by contacting BT and O2 by phone and email plus reading t&cs on their websites to make sure I was doing the right thing. A forum can't give you definitive info that in this case you need.

HOWEVER if you decide to go to O2, presumably without reading about CS make sure you've got the documents in front of you and go through everything with O2 and when they ask you or ask them to put you through to BT for a MAC code, make sure you've got your BT details and at end of conversation say you'll hold on and about 5 mins later they give you a MAC code - double check it - fortunately I did as I got it down wrong. Get back to O2 with the ref they gave you and they'll put the MAC code into their system and a few minutes later all being well confirm all is fine. FINISHED!

IT'S WELL CHEAP... And if you look here CS is very good.

    Re: BT Broadband Contract End

hi, thanks for replying, yes it's through the land line.

never mind then, i'll let BT know i don't want the contract to renew, then just wait till it runs out before i sign up to 02.

I'll miss the offer but still it's a lot cheaper than BT.

    Thanks again

    Re: BT Broadband Contract End

    Hi,

Is this through a landline? If not, then yes you certainly can. However, if it's through a landline you'd have to give BT a months notice that you intend to terminate your contract.

    BT Broadband Contract End

Hi all, just a quick one.

My BT Broadband contract ends on 3rd of September (so i'm now in my last my month). I want to sign up for 02 broadband - IT'S WELL CHEAP in comparison.

BUT!!! the 02 deal ends on Friday. Do I have to wait till 3rd of September before i sign up for 02, or because i'm in the last month can i sign up for 02 now?

    Many thanks

    Kev
