    Hi laney
If you haven't been in touch with BT yet try and get the UK call centre. I sort of worked out that Monday to Friday office hours would be best. I'd be inclined to put the phone down if you get offshore - this may have changed but I thought it was worth mentioning just in case its helpful. Classic offshore problem is they speak English but don't understand it.

    Dear laney
Did an engineer come out? If so did he say work would have to be done outside - this costs money. I had a bill for £170 for outside which I thought was about £70 too much. I asked NOT COMPLAINED for clarification and BT was appalled by BT and in the most efficient and helpful manner, in three credits, refunded the whole lot. I nearly fell on the floor. That was over a year ago and of course my guess is BT got an order from above to be extra helpful because it was haemoraging customers and this was too enthusiastically interpreted by the staff on the ground. Have a go in querying it and see what happens.

I got opt 1 package with b.t no mention of any charges or letter or email then the the month after connection a bill
    came through connection charge £106.37.
When i called to complain they just told me i would have been notified before connection this is not the case the connection was already in the wall and live the man from b.t came in and put the plug on how can they justify this
