    Re: Broker 1% Fee

Brokers can charge fees if they wish, as long as they declare them. He will also be keeping the commission from the deal by the sounds of it.

That's fine, but you must choose if you wish to pay it and from there, if you don't, change broker. Don't be bashful, it's his business plan and he has decided that he is happy to lose a few customers in order to earn about 4x the rate on the customers that remain with him.

I'm a broker, I don't charge fees. I guess simplistically he may only need to arrange 50 mortgages to earn the same as me arranging 200.

On the other hand, my customers are all better off than his by 1% + £250. I'm happier that way. If you prefer my way of working, by all means give me a call - you can find my website by googling my name. I bet he can't beat my quotes either, I might even be able to beat his if he hasn't got as good market access as me.

    Broker 1% Fee

    Hi

I just had a word with a broker, and I wanted to know a list of all fees, so as to avoid any nasty suprises.

He told me that the broker 1% fee would be coming from me, and not the lender.

I was always under the impression that, the 1% of the mortgage amount shouldnt be charged to my pocket, he also said that there is another £250 charge.

Can anyone shed more light on this please.

    thanks
