Yes, but if you have told a dodgy sales company that you have a contract with o2, it is quite possible that the same people could call you up next month to sell you an investment on Wall Street where you are guaranteed to double your money. TPS and Orange can only stop genuine UK sales calls.

It is quite possible to find mobile numbers without getting/buying a list from anyone. You just dial different numbers until someone answers.

    Re: Broken Terms and Conditions

Well I am allowing them to deal with their legal team, and then get back to me. The main reason for wanting to end my contract is the worry they have passed my details on to other companies and I will still receive calls from them.

I am already registered with TPS, and already listed my number as ex-directory.

Their legal team have apparently said it shouldn't of happened, and were investigating. Hopefully they will allow me to end the contract.

One or two calls like this is a nuisance but my opinion is that it is not enough to justify cancelling your contract. When things go wrong, you need to make yourfeelings known and give the party at fault a reasonable chance to put things right. You can put your complaint in writing and register your number with the site below. If you then get many more calls, you might want to take thingfs further.

It's worth mentioning that sometimes a back street phone company will make contact and pretend to be one of the main networks when in fact they may be doing no more than selling contracts for them. Some other types of sales calls are made from overseas and these are difficult to stop.

    Broken Terms and Conditions

    Hi All,

I took out a contract with Orange in May, and it has been a great service. One evening I had a missed call from an 0800 number so I checked online, and it was some marketing company selling Orange Broadband. Most people had said they had numerous missed calls from this company and they could hear laughing in the background. I hate sales calls, and don't want sales calls so I called Orange Customer Service (as per their terms and conditions) to opt out of the marketing.

The lady I spoke to got me out of all the marketing and I thought that would be it.

A week later I get more sales calls. I answered one, and it was this Orange Broadband sales company. I listened to the call, said I had a contract with O2 for my broadband and wasn't interested.

I phoned Orange to complain about receiving these calls when I clearly opted out. The guy I spoke to was useless and didn't understand my complaint so I called the next day and spoke to a guy who seemed to understand my frustrations, and said he would get back to me after speaking to their legal team. Still waiting for a call back.. 5 days and waiting.

Orange have broken their terms and conditions (19.4 on their website) and I want out of my contract. I spoke to a manager today, and apparently they will not let me out of my contract without me paying over £500 to buy myself out. Am I well within my rights to get out of my contract because they have broken the terms and conditions?

Any help with this is really appreciated. Orange have been awful in dealing with my complaint, and I feel like I am at a stalemate with them. Do I go to Ofcom?

    Thanks.
