Re: Broadband with no 12month contract

    Hi Jamie Mack

OK you live 771 metres from your telephone exchange so on an 8Mb product you're likely to get between 4-6 Mb speeds which is good. There's a couple of LLU providers in your exchange as well - Be Broadband and Sky Broadband - both offer really good deals with the fastest speeds.

What you need is a provider that doesn't impose a minimum contract period on you this restricting the amount you will have to pay as a cancellation fee - this rules our Be broadband and Sky, I would advise you consider:

Namesco Home - £14.95 a mth (£11 a mth BT line rental) 2Mb/5Gb broadband OR get faster speed and go for their Homemax product at £19.95 a mth for 8Mb/10G broadband - more importantly there's a fixed £70 cancellation free

Virgin Media (non cable) - £14.99 a mth (£11 a mth BT line rental) 1Mb/unlimited broadband OR £17.99 a mth for 8Mb/unlimited broadband which is fantastic - plus it's a fixed £50 cancellation fee.

Seriously Internet is another brand that offers pay as you go broadband without a contract - worth looking into.

PlusNet - also offer products without a minimum contract period but have a bit of a bad reputation for being difficult when trying to leave so if I were you I'd steer clear.

    I hope this helps?

    Cheers

    Jason

    Broadband with no 12month contract

    Hi,

I have moved into a new flat (post code G5 0SH) and i could not take my NTL broadband/phone/tv package to my new address as cable was not in the area. Basically i am now looking for a new broadband package (i am a very low phone user) and wondered if you had any suggestions? My main worry is that my lease is up in August 2007, so i don't know what package to go for without running the risk of a large disconnection fee in August (if i end up moving flats again)

    Thanks,

    Jamie
